Barcodes 101 & the GS1-128 Barcode
The GS1 System uses approved barcode symbologies to encode the identification numbers, such as GTINs, which uniquely identify products, logistic units, locations, assets, and service relations worldwide. Join this session to learn how additional product information such as best-before-dates, serial numbers, and lot numbers may also be encoded into barcodes. This session will highlight GS1-128 barcodes as it is recommended by the PTI for cases.

Introducing Rapid Recall Exchange
A new online service is now available to help expedite product recall and withdrawal announcements that:

  • Communicates directly and securely to your customers 
  • Creates one notification, yet allows you to customize information that may be unique to each customer 
  • Allows you to track when and who read and acted upon your notification

The Grocery Manufacturers Association (GMA) and National Grocers Association (N.G.A.) recently joined with the Food Marketing Institute (FMI) and GS1 US to launch Rapid Recall Exchange™. This new online service applies industry expertise and best practices to standardize product recall and withdrawal notifications between retailers/wholesalers and suppliers.
