GS1 identification numbers used in the Music industry include:

 bullet_blackc_8.gif Global Trade Item Numbers (GTIN-12 and GTIN-13) for product identification. GTIN is used on both the physical product as well as electronic communications between trading partners.
 bullet_blackc_8.gif Global Location Numbers (GLN) for identification of companies, divisions and individual store, manufacturing or distribution locations. GLN is used primarily in electronic communications and in some cases is placed within a GS1-128 bar code.

Music Products Industry Standards Initiatives

 bullet_blackc_8.gif GS1 XML Business Message Standards are presently being tested as a means to provide standardized electronic communications for this industry. Industry work groups have identified the unique attributes needed to conduct business and have included these attributes in the global standards.
